Appoint your Idaho registered agent
Every Idaho LLC must continuously maintain a registered agent with a physical address in the state, and a sixty-day gap without one is itself a ground for the Secretary of State to start dissolving the LLC.
Who can serve
The registered agent can be an Idaho resident individual, or a domestic or foreign entity authorized to do business in Idaho, with a physical street address in the state where service of process and official notices can be delivered during business hours. A post office box alone does not satisfy the registered office requirement.
Why this matters
Idaho law lets the Secretary of State begin administrative dissolution if an LLC goes sixty consecutive days without a registered agent in the state, entirely apart from the annual report requirement. This makes the registered agent appointment one of the two things, alongside the annual report, that can trigger dissolution proceedings on its own.
The registered agent's name and address are public record on the Secretary of State's business search.
