Open a bank account and file your Louisiana annual report
Once your Louisiana LLC is formed and registered for tax purposes, two things keep it running smoothly: a properly separated bank account and the annual report filed with the Secretary of State.
Opening the account
Bring the filed Articles of Organization, your EIN confirmation letter, an operating agreement if you have adopted one, and identification for signers and significant owners. Route all business income and expenses through this account, since commingling personal and business funds is one of the fastest ways to undermine an LLC's liability protection.
Filing the annual report
Louisiana LLCs file an annual report with the Secretary of State each year, due on the anniversary of formation, confirming or updating the registered agent, registered office and management information on file. The annual report fee is $30 today, and it rises to $35 for reports filed on or after October 1, 2026 under Act 921 of the 2026 Regular Legislative Session.
