Appoint your Utah registered agent
Every Utah LLC must continuously maintain a registered agent with a Utah street address on file with the Division of Corporations.
Who can serve
The agent can be a Utah resident, a Utah business entity, or an out-of-state entity authorized to transact business in Utah, but the agent must have a physical street address in the state where documents can be delivered during normal business hours. A PO box alone does not satisfy this requirement.
What the agent does
The registered agent receives service of process, official notices from the Division, and the reminder that goes out ahead of your annual renewal. Given how tight Utah's renewal window is, an agent who reliably forwards mail matters more here than in states with a longer grace period.
