Corporate naming rules
A corporate name must satisfy state rules before the filing is accepted.
Common requirements
- A corporate designator such as Incorporated, Corporation, Company, Limited, or an abbreviation of one
- Distinguishable on the state register from existing entities
- No words implying banking, insurance, trust or government affiliation without approval
